Philip Cullen is an award winning filmmaker. He has written, produced and directed several short films and music video’s under the production name Filmwex. Working in all aspects of filmmaking including screenwriting, editing and green screen filming.
Philip is an accomplished sound engineer, running his own recording studio for over twenty years, where he recorded and produced numerous albums and artists. He has also managed various bands and solo artists, organised music and theatre projects and co-organised a number of music festivals including Wexford's Exile On South Main Street.
Roberto Forte has been behind a camera in one way or another for decades. With a diploma in Marketing and Advertising, a H-dip in Digital Media Design and having studied directing at Filmbase, he finally felt it was time to go all-in...and so came into being Robot Wasp Media By his own admission he is hard to sum up, he'd say he's like 24% director, 28% cinematographer at least 18% screenwriter, 22% producer, 31% entrepreneur, 26% geek...wait a minute...that doesn't add up...
Declan Cody is a musician, songwriter and visual artist. He has performed as a singer/guitarist in numerous venues in Dublin, Cork & Berlin. He studied sound engineering at Pulse Studios, Dublin and lighting for film at Filmbase. Several of his visual works can be found in the Irish State Collection. His music video 'Dead' won an Electric Picnic DIVA award 2018 and was showcased at the festival. Declan recently organised an artist's residency & exhibition in Kathmandu and is the founder of the Webluvr Expo. and Owner/Editor at Artspies.com. His recent video installation was selected for exhibit at 'Light' Velletri, Rome & Bow Arts Biennale, London 2018 and he has been invited to adjudicate for Apexart's Open Call, New York 2019.
Aoife Lenihan has worked as venue manager with the Kilkenny Arts festival for the last 5 years.
She has also worked at the Dublin International Film festival and the Carlow Writers And Ideas Festival.
She studied Music Management in Ballyfermot College where she created her own independent record label and has been involved in promoting independent bands over the years.
Niamh is a Producer at Higgleoo TV, a Children's media company with music at the forefront of all productions. Niamh co created The Higgleoos, a short form musical series centered around three puppet characters that sing songs for kids age 3-6. The Higgleoos was produced for the kids VOD and radio market and is currently aired globally on the Hopster, Wildbrain and BatteryPOP platforms. Niamh started out as an art department trainee in the Irish and Canadian film industry but gravitated towards children's entertainment when working with Sneaky Vegetables, a children's educational game development company based out of the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC). Higgleoo TV are currently expanding The Higgleoos series on new platforms and are producing an educational music product for the english speaking K-12 schools market.
Justin Cullen is a songwriter and recording engineer based in Wexford. Lead singer and songwriter with Irish band Frankenstein Bolts. He has a background in sound recording and editing in music and film-sound and has scored and composed for numerous Irish independent film releases. Justin also delivers workshops on songwriting, movie making, studio recording and stop animation to teens and adults in various schools and arts centres around the country.
Peter Murphy is a writer, spoken word performer, journalist and occasional actor. He is the author of two novels, John the Revelator (2009) and Shall We Gather at the River (2013), published by Faber & Faber in Ireland and the UK, and by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in the US and Canada. His fiction has been translated and published in Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Holland, Germany, Serbia, Romania and the Commonwealth countries, and nominated for the Costa, the Kerry Group Fiction Prize and the IMPAC.
Peter was a senior contributing editor with Dublin’s Hot Press magazine for fifteen years. His journalism and non-fiction has appeared in Rolling Stone, The Guardian and the Irish Times. He has released two albums with the Revelator Orchestra, The Sounds of John the Revelator and The Brotherhood of the Flood. For ten years he was a regular panellist on RTE’s arts review show The View with John Kelly, and was also a presenter on RTE’s The Works.
In 2017 Peter played the part of Ellison in Eoghan Rua Finn’s play The Kill God, directed by Laura Way, staged at the National Opera House. He also curated a series of interdisciplinary arts events known as Cursed Murphy’s Laboratory, as well as operating as showrunner on the Seed to Stage spoken word mentoring programme. He was writer-in-residence at Carlow College in 2018, and currently performs under the name Cursed Murphy, often in tandem with his musical collaborators The Resistance. His first single, Foxhole Prayer, was released in September 2018.
Our Student Challenge, Busker Shoot and Mobile Phone Video Challenges are administered by Kathy Kane. A former researcher at Southeast Radio,
a teacher of English as a foreign language [Sweden, Spain & Liberia] and a primary school teacher with a responsibility for promoting the arts. She has worked on the very successful Living Arts Project for schools, sponsored by the Arts Department of Wexford County Council in partnership with Wexford Arts Centre and facilitated the Per Cent For Arts Scheme with a project budget of €30,000.
Kathy has participated in interviews on local and national radio in relation to web & arts events and holds a diploma in Media Studies.
Dave Sheehan is the creative Director at Higgleoo TV, a music based entertainment company for young children. Born in Carlow, Dave has a background in music composition and recording with over 20 years experience writing music for various media including video games and TV as well as working in various original music acts.
In 2012, he had excerpts from 'Clann Tuireann', an Irish language Opera he co-wrote, performed by members of the National chamber Choir. At Higgleoo TV he expanded his skills to include puppeteering as well as co-created 'The Higgleoos', an Indie rock puppet band for young kids.
Screenings are interspersed with live performances, tutorials and
interviews with special guests.
